Dear friends, We are delighted to inform that on September 20, 2019 we will have probably our biggest and most sophisticated cultural event to which we were heading during our past two years of activities… The Latvian Radio Choir, which is one of the best in Europe, conducted by S. Klava, will perform the entire Liturgy of Komitas. This will be a unique event, because the Liturgy, which is anticipated for male choir performance, upon our request was transcribed (and transliterated) by composer Vache Sharafyan, for a mixed choir performance version. Thus, it will be a world premiere! Armenian Opera soloists H. Nersessian and A. Badalyan will sing the solo parts. After the concert in Riga’s Saint John’s Church, it will be recorded on CD by a leading world production company- Delos Music…
This is the initiative of the Embassy of Armenia in Latvia supported by the Armenian Apostolic Church in Riga. We still need to raise funds for it. But we shall not stop and will implement it with dignity.
